A day in the life of…

As Kitchen Porter, you will be a crucial part of the kitchen team, delivering excellent service to guests each day. Teamwork is everything! You will work closely with your team mates to ensure that together each service is smooth and efficient. You are engaged, move with purpose, and serve with enthusiasm, understand performance indicators and work hard to positively influence these whilst on shift.

Based in The View Hotel, Eastbourne you will be part of a team of passionate people who know that being the best doesn’t always mean working around the clock.

As Kitchen Porter you’ll be expected to work a minimum of 4 hours per week with the expectation fo working up to 35 hours on occasions, based on 6-8 hour shifts and flexibility is required from Monday-Sunday including mornings and evenings. This is based on a Fixed Term Contract, to start immediately which will end on 30th September 2024. There may be further opportunities after this date for a permanent position.

What do we need from you?

To be successful in this role, you will be passionate about providing an exceptional guest experience and living through our brand standards.  Candidates are required to be aged 18 and over.

• You will be required to help the smooth running of both the kitchen and restaurant by ensuring crockery, cutlery and kitchen equipment is clean and available when it is needed.
• Cleaning the kitchen areas and storing deliveries away attention to Health & Hygiene legislative requirements.
• Operate and clean equipment correctly and safely adhering to cleaning and maintenance schedules
• Ensure work areas are kept clean, safe and tidy at all times, including canteen hot and cold units.
• Control the security of company's stock and property
• Adhere to all regulations in respect of Health and Safety, hygiene, guest safety ,fire regulations, emergency procedures and COSHH regulations etc.
• Adhere to all regulations in respect of hotel policies and standards, i.e. mandates and food standards
• To comply with any reasonable request by the Head Chef
• Attend and complete all training scheduled by the Hotel and/or your Head Chef.
• These responsibilities are not an exhaustive list and you may be required to undertake other duties as and when deemed required by the Management.
