As a Nights Porter, you will support the Nights team to ensure the smooth running of the Night operation. You will be key to ensuring safety and security across our hotel during the evenings; and create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all our guests and ensure they have a great experience. Additionally, computer tasks, finance tasks and cleaning tasks will all be part of the role. We are looking for someone with lots of personality and with an eye for detail.

About us….

Located in the heart of the Historic city of Durham, the hotel mixes old with new in our Grade 2 listed building, within easy walking distance of the prime cultural, business and shopping districts.

This boutique style hotel includes 83 uniquely designed guest rooms. Our hotel restaurant (Marco Pierre Whites) offers relaxed, simple dining. Our Rotunda Bar offers local craft beers and eclectic cocktails. Our Neighbourhood Café offers inside and outside options to enjoy a great coffee in the heart of the city.

Your day to day….

Responsibilities include:

• Offering a great first impression to all guests on arrival in the hotel

• Preparing Night Audit report, balancing cash and complete night audit process

• Integral in ensuring the safety & security of guests and employees in the hotel at night

• Professional handling of guest enquiries and queries

• Conducting efficient check out in line with brand standards

• Ad hoc duties as assigned by the management including general cleaning duties, setting up breakfast service, serving drinks, basic cooking skills
